PURPOSE:To minimize the effects of heat on a motor by arranging the motor for driving-steering of rear wheels and a reducer in series across the width of a car so that the distance from the motor to an exhaust pipe is larger than the distance from the reducer. CONSTITUTION:A reducer consisting of a reduction gear part 25, a brake part 26 for safety steering, a clutch part 29 arranged in series across the width of a car is located on the front side of a casing 22 housing a rear wheel steering shaft. A servomotor part 28 is then arranged so that an output shaft is parallel to a steering shaft, and a rotary encoder part 29 for detecting angles of rotation of the output shaft is arranged at the servomotor part 28. The servomotor part 25 and the rotary encoder part 29 are stationed so that the distance of these parts to an exhaust pipe 39 is larger than the distance of reducer parts 25, 26, 27 to the exhaust pipe. As a result, the effects of heat of high temperature on the motor 28 is minimized, and damage to the motor due to heat becomes difficult to occur. |
