PURPOSE:To always obtain good burning condition, even if the rate of combustion is largely varied, by rendering the rate of air fed into a gap between an inner and an outer flame cylinders variable in accordance with the elevating amount of a wick, in a petroleum burner. CONSTITUTION:A control body 9 is composed of a part such as an iris diaphragm of a camera, for instance, whose size of an opening is variable, interlocking with the elevating movement of a wick 1. When the protruded amount of a wick 1 is changed by turning a knob 2, the evaporating rate of fuel from the wick 1 is changed, and the opening of a cntrol body 9 is also changed interlocking with the elevating movement of a wick 1, so that the rate of air being fed into the gap between an inner and an outer flame cylinders 5 and 6 is varied, as well. With such an arrangement, good burning condition can be obtained, even if the rate of combustion is largely changed. As a result, the rate of CO generation can be reduced to an extremely low rate in a petroleum burner. |
