PURPOSE:To obtain the high efficiency of water recovery during a normal use and to secure the safety when a large quantity of acid or hydrogen gas flows in by fitting a sealing member to a bimetal to block the discharge hole of a closed catalyst plug used for a battery. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst container 4 enclosing a catalyst pellet 5 is stored in an external housing 1 and a discharge hole 1-2 is provided on its upper plate 1-1 to form a closed catalyst plug used for a battery, then a sealing member 1-2 such as heat-resistant rubber or the like is fixed to a bimetal 2 to block the discharge hole 1-2 with the sealing member 1-2. Accordingly, the discharge hole 1-2 is closed under a condition that a small quantity of acid or hydrogen is generated, and when a large quantity of acid or hydrogen gas is generated, the discharge hole 1-2 can be opened by allowing the bimetal 2 to operate by means of its heat, thus the high efficiency of water retrieval is normally attained and the safety can be secured when a large quantity of gas flows in. |
