PURPOSE:To enable execution of a test with the same load on a clutch release bearing as at the time when a transmission is actually installed, by a method wherein the same friction clutch as provided in an actual vehicle is provided between an input shaft of the transmission and an electric motor. CONSTITUTION:In a state wherein an output shaft of a transmission is loaded, an input shaft 1 thereof is rotated by an electric motor 5 to conduct a performance test. On the occasion, interruption of a motive power between the motor 5 and the shaft 1 is executed by a friction clutch 50. At the same time, principal and subordinate clutch release bearings 2 and 53 provided on the shaft 1 side and the clutch 50 side respectively are put in gearing with each other and made movable in the axial direction, and the clutch 50 is made to operate by the operation of these bearings. The number of rotations of the shaft 1 is taken outside to be measured, by a pulley 44 for taking out the motive power, which is provided on a rotating shaft 45 and rotates together with the shaft 1. When the transmission is shifted, a clutch pedal is depressed to move the bearing 2 backward, this movement is transmitted to the clutch 50 through the bearing 53, and thereby the clutch is cut off. |
