CONSTITUTION:When an image magnification control signal from an external setting means of an image magnification is received based on detection values of a distance detecting means consisting of a zoom code plate 40, a distance code plate 42, pulsers 48, 49, etc., and a defocus detecting means consisting of an auto focus use CCD 14, etc., a zoom driving means is controlled by calculating a focal position x0 of a lens, calculating the defocus quantity DELTAx, and calculating the zoom driving quantity of a photographic lens from the image magnification, x0 and DELTAx by a prescribed operation.
