<p>A process is specified for treating wash water, of the paint mist produced in painting, arising in the spray-painting of motor vehicle bodies. In this wash water, e.g. subsequently collected in sedimentation tanks, a previously inexplicable sudden increase in vicosity occasionally occurs. This viscosity increase which has occurred and the resulting slime formation is reversed by adding phosphates to the wash water. Orthophosphates, diphosphates and polyphosphates have proved to be suitable for this purpose.</p> |
