PURPOSE:To realize picture information transmission between facsimile equipments without adding any function to the facsimile equipment by transferring received picture information while it is converted into receptible picture information when relay request to a facsimile equipment connected to a PSTN from a facsimile equipment connecting to an ISDN is received. CONSTITUTION:When a relay request from a group 4 facsimile equipment FX4 connecting to the ISDN(integrated service digital communication network) to a group 3 facsimile equipment FX3 connecting to a PSTN (analog line network) is received, a repeater CM transfers the received picture information while converting it into picture information receptible by the group 3 facsimile equipment FX3. On the other hand, when a relay request from the group 3 facsimile equipment FX3 to the group 43 facsimile equipment FX4 connecting to the ISDN is received, the repeater transfers the received picture information while converting it into picture information receptible by the group 4 facsimile equipment FX4. Thus, the mutual picture information transmission between the group 4 facsimile equipment FX4 connected to the ISDN and the group 3 facsimile equipment FX3 connecting to the PSTN is realized without adding any function to the group 4 facsimile equipment FX4. |
