ELECTRIC CONNECTOR CONTAINING SOLDER AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE: To prevent solder elements from falling off an electric connector by providing the connector with grooves for defining mounting axes for the solder elements and pins passing through the solder elements so as to prevent the solder elements from falling off the grooves along their longitudinal axes. CONSTITUTION: A connector body 11 is formed with a plurality of pin receiving holes 16 spaced out in the longitudinal direction thereof, which grooves 20 intersect. A solder element 24 formed with openings 26 is sized so as to be inserted into the groove 20 along a mounting axis 22. The insertion of the solder element 24 into the groove 20 allows the insertion of a pin 28 through the pin receiving hole 16 and the opening 26 or through the connector body 11 to thereby fix the solder element 24 in the groove 20 against its movement in the direction of the mounting axis 22. That arrangement prevents the solder element 24 from falling off the pin 28.
