PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition by combining a compound such as a lodging reducing agent exhibiting plant growth regulating action against various plants by foliar treatment with a foliar and soil-treating agent such as alpha-cyclopropyl-alpha-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-pyrimidinemethanol. CONSTITUTION:The objective plant-growth regulating composition contains a compound of formula I [A is H or methyl; R is OH, alkoxy, alkoxyalkoxy, mono- or dialkylamino or -O-Cat (Cat is organic or inorganic cation)] (e.g. the compound of formula II) and alpha-cyclopropyl-alpha-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5- pyrimidinemethanol or alpha- isopropyl-alpha- (4-trifluoromethoxyphenyl) -5- pyrimidinemethanol. A synergistic effect can be attained by the combination of the above two kinds of compounds and the application rate of the compounds can be decreased. |
