PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of a switch to be used for permitting the start of identification code writing by automatically confirming the connection between a handset and base unit by means of a connection cord for writing identification code and causing the start of the identification code writing to be permitted by the confirmation. CONSTITUTION:At the time of writing an identification code in a handset 1, the cord plug for telephone line is first pulled out from a modular jack 270 for telephone line. Then the plug 192 of a connection cord 190 for identification code writing is inserted into the modular jack 270 and a plug 191 is inserted into a jack for writing identification code. As a result, a microcomputer 140 is set to a standby state for a key input. Since the start of identification code writing is automatically permitted when the handset 1 is connected with a base unit 2 with the connection cord 190 for writing identification code in such way, no special switch is required for permitting the start of identification code writing. |
