SET-UP CONSTRUCTION OF FUEL CELL

PURPOSE:To tighten a fuel battery without looseness with the entire faces thereof fastened under equal pressure by tightening cells with a fastening plate having a spherical recess in the middle of the bottom face of the plate via a retaining jig having a spherical projection in the middle of the upper face of the jig. CONSTITUTION:A retaining jig 19 having a spherical projection 18 in the middle of the upper face of the jig is put on a partition plate 9 and a fastening plate 21 having a spherical recess 20 in the middle of the lower face of the plate is put on the retaining jig 19 with the spherical projection 18 aligned with the spherical recess 20 with each other. Cells 8 are tightened between the fastening plate 21 and the base plate 17 at four corners with bolts 17, nuts 24 and pressure springs 23. Multiple ply of the cells 8 may be tightened with the entire faces thereof fastened under equal pressure and if the tightening bolts may be extended due to increase of temperature, the entire faces of the cells are subjected to equal pressure so that looseness may be prevented.
