PURPOSE:To perform the regeneration of a favorable image by a simple operation by a method wherein a color component image is recorded as a color image on an image receiving medium, and the image is recorded on the image receiving medium with recording contrast and density corresponding to adjusted brightness and gradation. CONSTITUTION:When an image is to be recorded on an image receiving medium 14, a yellow part of a dye sheet is firstly fed to the image receiving medium 14 through a control line 50. At the same time, a switch circuit 36 is controlled through a control line 42 so that an output 34Y of a color conversion part 30 is inputted to an input 40 of a head drive circuit 38. Then, RGB color component signals outputted from outputs 28R, 28G, and 28B of a gradation control part 24 are converted to yellow component signals in the color conversion part 30 under the control of a system control part 44 and transferred from the switch circuit 36 to the drive circuit 38, and a recording head 12 is driven to record a yellow image on the image receiving medium 14. Similarly, a magenta image and a cyan image are also recorded on the same frame of the image receiving medium 14. In this manner, the respective images are overlappedly recorded with density and contrast corresponding to the brightness and contrast of a monitor image displayed on a monitor display part 68. |
