PURPOSE:To prevent the faulty cleaning of the photosensitive body, and picture defects such as the generation of a fogging or a black spot in the back ground part of the picture, etc., at the same time by specifying the surface roughness of a transparent protective layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body comprises a selenium type photosensitive layer (A) and the transparent protective layer (B) dispersed conductive powders into a resin. The surface roughness of the layer (B) is specified to a root mean square value of the roughness (RMS) of 0.03-0.15mum. When the value of the RMS is less than said value, the faulty cleaning is easy to occur. When the value of the RMS is larger than said value, the fogging and the black spot generate at the back ground of the picture. For example, the layer (A) is formed by vapor-depositing As2Se3 on an Al pipe and then polishing it. The layer (B) is formed on the layer (A) if necessary, through an intermediate layer by applying a coating solution contg. tin oxide powders and a polyurethane as an essential component on a substrate. |
