MANUFACTURE OF LIQUID CRYSTAL PANEL

PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display panel which enables high-speed inspection under the control of a signal drive IC by mounting a gate and the signal drive IC on a panel. CONSTITUTION:Signal lines for supplying signals to the sources of thin film transistors(TFT) are formed on a glass substrate 1 so that adjacent source signals are connected to different signal line drive ICs 22, and a substrate 4 provided with counter electrodes are mounted on the substrate 1 to form the liquid crystal panel. Then, a gate drive IC is mounted on the gate signal lines of the TFTs and a signal drive line drive IC 22 is mounted on even or odd source lines. Then, at least one of the drive ICS is put in operation to decide the quality of the panel from the output signals of the even or odd source signal lines. All drive ICs are mounted finally to complete the panel. Consequently, the man-hours of probe inspection for a crossing short circuit and an adjacence short circuit are decreased to reduce the product cost.
