PURPOSE: To provide a filtration fabric having high strength, uniformly distributed pores, low pressure drop and excellent filtration characteristics by bonding three components consisting of two kinds of fibers and a fibrous filler, having mutually dissimilar denier and length, with a suitable binder in an evenly intermingled state in a sheet. CONSTITUTION: The objective nonwoven filtration fabric is produced by suspending three fiber components consisting of two kinds of fibers and a fibrous filler in water to form a slurry, by feeding the slurry on the mesh of perforated forming wire to form a mat and impregnating it with a binder in an emulsion form, followed by heating the treated mat to dry it and to polymerize the binder. The first fiber component is staple polymer fibers(SF) of high denier and a certain fiber length, the second fiber component is staple polymer fibers of low denier and sorter length than the first fiber component, and the third fiber component is a fibrous filler (e.g. kraft pulp fibers) of shorter length than the first fiber component. |
