In a device for detecting the position of a display of an analog electronic clock, in particular a radio-controlled clock, two separate positioning motors (motor actuators) are each provided with an actuating gear (mechanism). The hour and minute wheels (1, 2) are driven by a common stepping motor, and the second wheel (3) is driven by its own stepping motor. Together with an intermediate wheel (7, 8) driving the minute and second wheels, the minute wheel (2) and the second wheel (3) project respectively with an aperture (orifice) (10, 13) into the beam path of a reflected-light barrier (9a). The minute wheel (2) or a perforated disc (7') of its driving intermediate wheel (7) is aluminised (silvered, mirrored) on the side pointing towards a combined transmitting and receiving part (9) of the light barrier (9a). The hour wheel (1) has on the side pointing towards the transmitting and receiving part (9) at least one aluminised marking (4, 5, 6). The arrangement permits the position of the display to be detected quickly with high accuracy in conjunction with the use of only a reflected-light barrier. <IMAGE>
