The hand lever is for operating a vehicle gear box. It has a locator head attached to it by means of which the selection and changing movements are transmitted to the gear box via an activation member (position rod, or cable pull). The locator head (2) is releasably and eccentrically connected to the gear lever (1) relative to its longitudinal axis (4) and is rotatable about the axis in its released state.
