PURPOSE:To obtain a nontoxic bathing agent, containing an extract solution prepared by extracting the tree bark of Quillaia saponaria Mol. with a solvent consisting essentially of water or a lower alcohol and having great detergency with treating effects on dermatosis, atopic diseases or pimple and further sound sleep effects. CONSTITUTION:A bathing agent obtained by crushing the tree bark of Quillaia saponaria Mol. into a chip form, dipping the resultant chips in a solvent consisting essentially of water or a lower alcohol (e.g., methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol or glycerol), heating the dipped chips, filtering the solvent to provide an extract solution (30-35% concentration) and containing the obtained extract solution therein. Since the above-mentioned bathing agent has great detergency and requires no washing of human bodies or bathtubs, the agent is greatly advantageous to persons of disabled bodies or the aged. The agent has treating effects on dermatosis, the ability to soundly sleep, etc., further prevention of reduction in hot water temperature and decrease in temperature difference between the upper and lower parts of hot water. The optimum amount of the agent used is 5-20cc expressed in terms of stock extract solution of the Quillaia saponaria Mol. based on 1m<3> hot water. |
