[Also in Group XXXIX] A loud-speaker unit 10 includes a baffle 8 and a vertically reflecting wall 9. Two such units are arranged for stereophonic reproduction so that each reflecting wall 9 reflects approximately half the sound radiated by its own loud-speaker unit in a direction away from the other loud-speaker unit. Each loud-speaker unit may comprise a plurality of loud-speakers arranged vertically one above the other, all loud-speakers of the unit pointing in the same direction. Where the rear of each loud-speaker unit is closed an additional vertical reflecting wall 13 is attached to each baffle 8. Walls 13 improve the stereophonic effect, particularly where the side walls of the auditorium are covered with non-reflective material, or have an uneven surface or where the units are not in the corners of the auditorium.
