<p>A method of manufacturing/renovating windows provided with one or several window units. Each window unit has an inwardly or outwardly opening casement (1) carrying a glass pane (18), said casement abutting a rabbet (2a) in a frame unit (2, 3). Each casement (1) is provided with a single- or multilayered additional pane (8), after old catches or stays, have been removed. The additional pane (8) is movably fastened to the casement (1) by hinge means (13) placed at (1a), opposite the hinged side of the casement (1) and is also fastened by means of a special retainer fitting (5, 10, 11). Pane (8) can under certain conditions be pivoted away from casement (1) allowing cleaning there between. A sealing fillet (12) in rabbet (2a) forms a stopping face for pane (8). Improved heat insulation is provided without altering the visual impression of the building.</p> |
