NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by formula I [R1 and R2 are H, (substituted) alkyl or R1 and R2 are mutually bonded to form 5-membered or 6-membered ring; R3-R6 are halogen, amido, (substituted) alkyl, etc.; R7 and R8 are monofunctional organic group; m is 0-4; n is 0-5; B is bonded through C, N, O or S to imidazole ring or directly to imidazole ring]. USE:Dye suitable for image medium of photography, heat-sensitive transfer, etc., having low pH dependence, requiring no mordant and showing absorption characteristics preferable as a cyan dyestuff. PREPARATION:A coupler shown by formula II and a developing agent of p- phenylenediamine base shown by formula III are subjected to oxidation coupling reaction in the presence of an oxidizing agent such as silver halide under a basic condition. |
