PURPOSE:To make the distance of movement of a moving platen almost zero by means of a clamping means, shorten the time required for clamping and also shorten the molding cycle by correcting the position of the moving platen at the time of starting clamping to the position where a movable mold and a fixed mold are in close contact by means of a mold thickness adjusting means in every one cycle of mold opening and closing. CONSTITUTION:Pressure oil is fed to the rod side of a hydraulic cylinder 27 for mold opening and closing when clamping is carried out, and a moving platen 15 is moved to the side of a fixed platen 12. When a movable mold mounting surface 18b is brought into contact with a stopper 16, pressure oil feeding is discontinued, and the pressure oil is fed to the head side of a hydraulic cylinder 15 for locking. A lock plate 17 is moved downward and fitted in a ring-shaped recessed section 14d of a tie bar 14 by said arrangement, and the moving platen 15 is in the state of being fixed to the tie bar 14. Then, the pressure oil is fed to the rod side of a clamping cylinder 13 and the tie bar 14 is moved to the side of the fixed platen 12. Therefore, the moving platen 15 is almost not moved by the clamping cylinder 13 of slow moving speed and the mold opening and closing cycle can be shortened. |
