PURPOSE:To make the energy efficiency of an apparatus higher by sealing a piezoelectric element in a tubular body composed of an elastic body in a state where both ends of said element in the direction of expansion and contraction thereof are restrained. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric actuator A is equipped with a cylindrical laminated piezoelectric element 31 and inserted into a metal tubular body 32 in a state where its both ends are restrained. For example, internal threads 33 are formed at both ends of the inner surface of said tubular body 32, external threads of a plug body 34 are respectively screwed and fixed to said ends, and the tips of said plug body 34 are brought into contact with the ends of said piezoelectric element 31 to contact the piezoelectric body 31. In this case, said piezoelectric actuator A is applied to an ultrasonic linear motor so that hexahedron iron blocks 4-5 are provided at both ends of the trunk 3 and the male threads 35 of said plug body 34 are screwed-in and fixed into tapped holes 6 of said blocks. Said legs 1-2 are respectively fixed to other sides of these blocks 4-5 to constitute a U-shaped travel body 7. Then, said travel body 7 is arranged on a constructed rail 8 and pressure-contacted by a pair of wheels 11 and coiled springs 13 on the underside of said rail. |
