PURPOSE:To improve the thin line reproducibility of an output image by controlling the temperature of a photosensitive body in the way that the potential of the intersection of distribution curves for photosensitive body potentials corresponding to image elements which put a single image between them and are adjacent to each other is kept higher than a development level and the potential of the intersection of the distribution curves for photosensitive body potentials corresponding to image elements which are directly adjacent to each other is kept lower than the development level. CONSTITUTION:It is not enough that the photosensitive body potential of the peak P of the distribution curve for a photosensitive body potential corresponding to each image element is kept lower than the development level Vth, and that the potential of the intersection Q of the distribution curves for the photosensitive body potentials corresponding to the image elements which put a single image between them and are adjacent to each other is kept higher than the development level Vth. It is necessary that the potential of the intersection R of the distribution curves for the photosensitive body potentials corresponding to the image elements which are directly adjacent to each other is kept lower than the development level Vth. That is, even if external environment is changed, it is necessary that the temperature of the photosensitive body is accurately controlled to satisfy the conditions described above. Thus a potential relation between the distribution curves of the photosensitive body potential and the development level becomes optimum, and the thin line is reproduced without a scratch. Besides, black stripes, etc., are not generated in needless places and the thin line reproducibility is improved. |
