PURPOSE: To facilitate assembly and to fix an upper shell and a lower shell without distorting each other by connecting the upper shell and the lower shell integrally through at least one elastic connecting piece. CONSTITUTION: A ball joint has a spherical pivot 1, and a ball head 2 of the pivot 1 is held in a joint housing 4 by a ball bearing shell 3. The ball bearing shell 3 has a lower shell 5 and an upper shell 6. The lower shell 5 and the upper shell 6 have partial spherical surfaces formed to support the ball head 2 on both sides of the equator. The lower shell 5 is inserted in a nearly cylindrical housing hole 7 and axially supported to the slightly reduced cross section of the housing hole 7 near a housing opening 8 for the spherical pivot 1. The required relative movability of the upper shell 6 to the lower shell 5 is guaranteed by connecting pieces 12 arranged every 120 deg. around a pivot shaft. |
