PURPOSE:To make special space for arrangement of a head recovery means useless by a method wherein a conveyor belt for conveyance of recording paper having an opening part at its one part is arranged between a recording head and the head recovery means which are opposed to each other. CONSTITUTION:When a recording signal is not sent for a specific time or longer, a conveyor belt 4 is sent until an opening part 4A is detected by a sensor 7 to be arranged at a specific position, and a head recovery device 2 is moved to an ink jet recording head 1 side via the opening part 4A. Several-pulse discharge of ink is performed after capping, and the discharged ink is sucked to be recovered in a tank 3. After this cleaning, the head recovery device 2 is lowered, and the conveyance belt 4 is made to pivot. A recording medium 10 from a paper feed roller 8 is attracted by static electricity with a static electricity generator 6 to be conveyed, and printing according to the recording signal is performed with the recording head 1. Special space for arrangement of a head recovery means is thus made useless and the title ink jet recording device can be constructed in a very small size. |
