<p>The braking device provided in this castor comprises two separate mechanisms each having a ball (10a) placed on a guide track (11a) inclined relative to the horizontal and provided with a retention stop (19a) at its lowest end. The guide tracks of each of these mechanisms are inclined in opposite directions, such that the ball of one or other of these mechanisms comes into the braking position depending on the direction of inclination given to the corresponding trolley. Around each of these guide tracks there is provided a ring (8a) integral with the castor (1-2) and the inner wall of which has a series of teeth (21a) with an inclined profile in one direction and an abrupt profile in the other direction so as to ensure the locking with the ball (10a) of the corresponding mechanism in the desired direction in order to prevent the castor from moving downhill, it still being possible for it to rotate in the opposite direction. Castors of this type can be used for equipping trolleys which can be placed on sloping conveyor belts. <IMAGE></p> |
