<p>PURPOSE:To omit printing of wasteful data for a totalizing document, to provide power conservation and to realize the long life of a thermal head by altering the greatness of driving energy to be applied on a heat generating resistor of the head at each printing region of the document. CONSTITUTION:A thermal printer for supplying a plurality of stacked heat sensitive sheets 11 between a thermal head 2 and a platen 3 and simultaneously forming a plurality of documents 4 associates a program for selecting a heat generating resistor 21 corresponding to printing data and applying driving energy to the resistor 21 and a program for altering the size of driving energy for each printing regions 41a, 41b, 41c,... prior to printing in a controller for controlling the driving circuit. Accordingly, printing region data and printing sheet number data are set in advance, and only data necessary for a totalizing document can be, for example, printed.</p> |
