EXAMPLE:N,N,N',N'-Tetrakis(4-tolyl)-1,3-phenylenediamine. USE:An electric charge-transporting substance in photosensitive materials for electrophotography. PREPARATION:Resorcinol of formula II and p-toluidine of formula III are reacted with each other in the presence of iodine under a flow of nitrogen gas to form N,N'-di(4-tolyl)-1,3-phenylenediamine of formula IV. The formed compound of formula IV and iodotoluene of formula V are refluxed together with potassium carbonate and copper powder in nitrobenzene. |
