<p>A marker device for identifying the location of seeds, seedlings, plants, shrubs, bushes or other vegetative material comprises an enclosure (19; 24; 48) of substantially water-impermeable material for receiving a marker element (23; 28) of indicia-bearing material, and ground-penetrating means (21; 26; 30; 43) for retaining the enclosure (19; 24; 48) in position, projecting from the surface of the ground, with the enclosure in a downwardly open orientation. In a preferred embodiment the marker is formed as a unitary moulding of transparent plastics material.</p> |
