Method for prepg. 3,4-disubstd.-benzothiazol-2-on derivs. [(I): R1=F, Cl, Br or Me; R2=Me or Et comprise (a) reacting 4substd.-2- aminobenzothiazole deriv. with N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and alkylating agent i.e. dimethyl(or ethyl) sulfate, trimethyl(or ethyl) phosphate, iodomethane, chloro ethane in the presence of acid- catalyst i.e. HBr, HCl, oxalic acid, acetic acid to obtain 3,4- disubstd.-2-formimido(2,3-dihydro) benzothiazole deriv.; and (b) hydrolyzing. (I) are effective against rice blast.
