A service tray with a non-skid surface comprises a moulding of polypropylene reinforced with glass fibre matting having a surface layer of cotton cloth impregnated with a relatively high friction material, pref. PVC and laid in the mould to provide the concave surface of the tray. The surface of the mould is pref. maintained at 30 to 60 deg.C. The moulding material (PP + glass mat) is pref. heated to between 190 deg.C and 225 deg.C. The cotton fabric may be perforated. The moulding pref. has a matt surface, pref. decorated by e.g. a pattern displayed by the cotton cloth.
