<p>A water-cooled winding for an electromagnetic stirrer comprises a coil (1) including a number of wound flat type wires (5) having a wire-insulating turn insulation (6), and a porous polyamide fiber covering the periphery of the coil which is impregnated with an epoxy resin compsn. comprising a bisphenol type epoxy resin, a reactive diluent and an amine type curing agent. The epoxy resin is cured after impregnation. For example, flat type wires (5) were wound wiht two plies of glass fiber, impregnated with epoxy varnish and cured to form insulating layer (6), and then wound into a coil of desired shape with the required number of turns.</p> |
