<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of rotary torque and the generation of noise by enabling a position to be adjusted of an intermediate shaft in its axial line direction and meshing accuracy to be adjusted of a tapered intermediate gear with an output gear by adjusting the position of this intermediate shaft. CONSTITUTION:An electrically driven power steering is formed by mutually parallely arranging an input shaft 2, intermediate shaft 3 and a pinion shaft (output shaft) 4 in a housing 1. The pinion shaft 4 is rotated by power of an electric motor through gears 25, 27 to 29, moving a rack 8 of a steering mechanism in the axial direction. Here an upper part of the intermediate shaft 3 is slidably fitted to an inner ring 20b of a bearing 20 fixed to an upper part constitutional unit 1a. While a bottom part of the intermediate shaft 3 is fixed to an inner ring 22b of a bearing 22 fixed to a cylindrical bearing supporting member 21 screwed to the bottom end part of a bottom part constitutional unit 1b, and by rotating this bearing supporting member 21, an axial direction position of the intermediate shaft 3 is adjusted. While the intermediate gear 28 and output gear 29 are formed into a tapered gear.</p> |
