PURPOSE:To obtain a hydraulic oil and a brake oil having excellent viscosity characteristics, compression characteristics, lubricating properties and oxidizing stabilities in wide temperature range from low temperature to high temperature containing a specific ratio of triethylene glycol monomethyl ether and specific ester. CONSTITUTION:(A) 60-96wt.% triethylene glycol monomethyl ether and (B) 40-4wt.% ester expressed by the formula (X is 6-8C branched hydrocarbon, Y is 5-9C branched hydrocarbon) are contained in the aimed hydraulic oil and brake oil. Physical properties of said oil are usually >=205 deg.C (preferably >=230 deg.C) boiling point at reflux, >=100 deg.C (preferably >=110 deg.C) flashing point and <=1000cst (preferably <=800cst) dynamic viscosity at -40 deg.C. |
