<p>PURPOSE: To provide a small-sized chip card reader provided with excellent operability by providing a guide path in a frame and making the guide path perform effective guiding for movement from an original position to a read position and vice versa in cooperation with the guide path of a contact support. CONSTITUTION: This chip card reader 1 is provided with the frame 5 fixedly attached to a device 3 (telephone system for instance). The frame 5 is formed with an opening 4 in an almost shape and a movable part in it is attached movably back and forth by the form of the contact support 6. The support 6 can be moved between the original positron (dotted line) and the read position (solid line) and the support 6 is biased by a spring means 8 to the original position. The support and a guiding means 10 are generally provided so as to enable relative movement between the support 6 and the frame 5. The support 6 and the guiding means 10 are provided so as to lower the height of the movement of the support 6 especially when the support 6 is moved between the original position and the read position.</p> |
