PURPOSE:To dispense with the positional adjustment of a printing head by moving the printing head before and behind and operating a lever even when the thickness of a printing medium is changed by moving a carriage in the direction due to an energizing means by pulling a rope by a drive means. CONSTITUTION:The printing head base 14 guided by the guide pin of a printing head carriage is moved to a position separated from a printing medium 3 by pulling a revolving rope 12 by a motor 60 and, since a gap equal to or more than the thickness of the printing medium 3 is provided between a printing receiving body 4 and the protruding end of a printing head 1, the printing medium can be set to a predetermined position. Next, when the revolving rope 12 is loosened and the printing head base 14 is moved toward the printing medium 3 by an energizing means 21, a medium press roller 8 is brought into contact with the printing medium 3 and the gap between the printing receiving body 4 and the protruding end of the printing head 1 is held corresponding to the thickness of the printing medium 3. A movable pulley is revolved by pulling the revolving rope 12 and the thickness of the printing medium 3 can be adjusted by simple constitution. |
