The tape half loading mechanism is used for protecting the tape from getting damaged by separating the tape from a drum in the case of a forward winding or a backward winding mode. The tape auxilary rollers (15,15-1) are rotatable freely at either side of the reel plate, moving inward and outward an opening part of the cassette according to the direction of movement of the reel plate, and setting up the running passageway of the tape supplied or wound by the reels. A half loading ring (10-2) is movably connected to driving gears (9,9-1) in connection with a motor-driven gear (8), and moving between the outer side of a running passageway in the full loading mode and a front face of a drum.
