PURPOSE:To make the quick and sure exchanging of feed rolls possible by engaging and disengaging a pair of grooved roll bodies which feed a supplied wire rod at each specified length with or from a mounting plate in the end part of a revolving shaft by means of locking pawls which are expanded or contracted by the rotating operation of a handle. CONSTITUTION:A continuous wire rod 4 is supplied between a pair of grooved rolls 3 and 3 to be used for a former for continuous multistages cold-pressing of metallic cold-pressed parts such as bolts and fed and mored at each prescribed length. Each roll 3 consists of a roll body 5, a revolving shaft 6 and a mounting disc 7 formed in one body in the end part thereof. To exchange the roll 3, a handle 12 projecting through the central circular hole of the body 5 is turned in the direction (a) to turn a cam body 13 provided integrally in the inside end part of the shaft 11 in the same direction, whereby locking pawls 14 are forced and moved inward toward a contracting direction by pivoting at pivotal pins 10. Then, the pawls 14 disengage from the body 5 with which the pawls are engaged; therefore, if the operator pulls the body 5 toward him, the body 5 can be removed from the disc 7. The operator fits a new roll body and makes the operations reverse from the above, and the roll body is engaged and locked. |
