PURPOSE: To improve a stability to a thermal reaction, an image density, a skin oil or the like by specifying a minimum chromogenic efficiency and solvent resistance of a chromogenic substance made of a component of a phenolic substance, aromatic carboxylate component and divalent zinc. CONSTITUTION: The chromogenic composition made of a homogeneous mixture containing a phenolic substance component, aromatic carboxylate component and divalent zinc possesses at least 95 chromogenic efficiency and at least about 30 percent of solvent resistance. The phenolic substance component itself is a chromogenic material, contains 3.4 wt.% of phenolic group and improves a sense of reducing a solvent as a weight percent phenolic group is increased. The aromatic carboxylate component coincides with a mixture of an aromatic carboxylic acid or an acid having at least 2.9 octanol/water separation factor (Kow) indicated by log Kow in a separate state. |
