PURPOSE:To easily realize the waveguide optical element at low cost by constituting a waveguide reflection optical system where a waveguide optical system is formed as the end surface of a waveguide layer. CONSTITUTION:The waveguide reflection optical system 52A has the waveguide optical system formed as the end surface of the waveguide layer 52 and waveguide light which is propagated in the waveguide layer 52 is reflected by the waveguide reflection optical system 52A and converged on one point. Thus, the waveguide light is converged not by refraction, but by reflection, so even if the light wave length varies, the function of the waveguide reflection optical system 52A does not change at all. Further, the waveguide optical reflection optical system 52A is formed as the end surface of the waveguide layer 52. Consequently, its manufacture is facilitated. |
