In order to manufacture in particular small brushes and/or brushes with bristles disposed in practically any layout, a through hole is provided on a holder (1), the tuft of bristles (3) is inserted in the hole and sealed, glued or welded to the holder (1) on the side opposite the projecting bristles, or alternatively a blind hole is made in the holder (1) and the residual covering wall of the blind hole is used as welding material after insertion of the tuft of bristles (3).
