PURPOSE:To prevent the adhesion of refuse to a head by providing a thermal recoding layer comprising a specified heat-fusible substance, a wax, a lubricant, an oil-absorptive pigment and a color reaction agent on a support to form a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:In addition to a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color reaction agent capable of coloration upon contact with the dye, a heat-fusible substance showing a weight loss of at least 5% at 200 deg.C under the temperature rise rate condition of 20K/min, wax, a lubricant and an oil-absorptive pigment having an oil absorption of at least 85cc/100g are dispersed by an agitating and grinding machine such as a ball mill and a sand mill by using water as a dispersant to prepare a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a support, and is dried to provide a thermal recording layer, thereby obtaining a thermal recording material. The wax is preferably used in an amount of 3-100pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the heat-fusible substance. |
