A refractory feed tube (6) for introducing molten metal into a continuous casting mould (9) where the outlet end of the feed tube is extended in a direction normal to the length of the tube. The outlet of the tube comprises two openings (15) each for the discharge of a stream of molten metal and the streams issuing from the openings come into direct collision with each other to reduce the kinetic energy of the streams.
