PURPOSE:To enhance surface potential and to reduce residual potential by forming an amorphous silicon carbide photoconductive layer composed of 2 layer regions each containing a specified amount of specified element. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by successively laminating on a conductive substrate 1 the amorphous silicon carbide photoconductive layer 2 having a thickness of 0.05-5mum and the 2 layer structure composed of a first layer region 2a containing an element of group Va of the periodic table in an amount of <=5,000ppm and a second layer region 2b containing an element of group IIIa of the periodic table in an amount of 1-10,000ppm, and an organic photosemiconductor layer 3, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to contain no Se, to cause no environmental pollution, and to be good in adhesion with the substrate and high in surface potential and small in residual potential. |
