A profiled (e.g. metal) insert section for reinforcing plastic prods. has holes or recesses to allow it to be fitted into an injection mould and to enable the plastic material to lock the section in position as the material is injected into the holes/ recesses. It also has guiding members which distribute the polymer over the section and guide some inwards so that it effectively locks the section. The section is pref. cast aluminium. ADVANTAGE - The profile concerned effectively stiffens the end product. It eases the production and distributes the encapsulating plastic material in the best possible way. |
