<p>A device for inverted hidden-arc welding comprises a rotatable bunker (1) for the flux (2), inside which is mounted a bowl (4) connected to a driven screw-type feeder with a screw (6) rotating at a constant speed. Inside the bowl (4) passes a welding nozzle (13) for a consumable electrode (14), whereas a forming arrangement (16) is mounted in the vicinity of the welding nozzle (13), above the upper level of the part of the bowl (4), open towards the article (3) to be welded, with the possibility of swinging in the longitudinal and transverse planes. The device is provided with a screw-turn counter and with a regulator of the flux quantity fed into the bowl, which are interconnected to actuate the latter after a certain number of turns of the screw (6). The regulator of the flux quantity fed to the bowl consists of a shutter (31) closing the opening through which the bunker (1) is connected to the driven screw-type feeder to change the cross-section area of said opening depending on the signals from the screw-turn counter and a drive (32) mounted on the bunker (1) and kinematically connected to the shutter (31), whereas the screw-turn counter consists of an inductive pick-up (28) electrically connected to a pulse counter relay (29). The device provides for regulation of the quantity of the flux (2) fed into the bowl (4) and, if necessary, of a preset height of the flux cushion or for maintaining its constant height, thus stabilizing a preset pressure of the flux (2) near the electrode and at the welding bath.</p> |
