The marketable structural unit consists of a package of a set of self-service sales packagings in a protective container. Each sales packaging comprises a support plate which bears on its useful area a receiving container for the associated commodity portion while the remaining empty area is available for pictorial or textual information and is preferably provided with a hanging hole for display in a self-service stand. In order to achieve a compact shape of the package, whch is free of loss of space, it is proposed to turn adjacent sales packagings towards one another in pairs in each case with their visible side but to arrange their useful areas and empty areas in a mirror-inverted manner in relation to one another. As a result, there are, in the closed protective container, two stacks which are oriented in opposite directions to one another and the useful areas of which in each case coincide with the halves of the protective container which is to be divided into two halves and thus make possible a common handling provided that the useful area, for the purpose of an effective clamping engagement of the hand taking hold of the container half, has a greater plate width than the empty area.
