Proceeding from a known brake device according to DE-OS 3641105, a modification is proposed, such that in the brake release position a pressure medium connection exists between the booster chamber 9 and the simulator chamber 10. The modulator chamber 8 merely has an external connection 17. This simplifies the design considerably and also facilitates an extension for traction control. <IMAGE>
