Cross-country ski binding

The binding is intended for locking a boot on a cross-country ski, with the possibility of rotation of the boot. The boot has a pivot pin at its front end. The binding has a clamping ring for the boot which is articulated on the ski. The ring is prestressed for rotation by elastic devices in the clamping direction of the boot, the elastic devices additionally exerting a restoring force on the boot when the latter is lifted. The axis of rotation of the boot is different from the axis of rotation of the clamping ring, and the distance between the axis of rotation of the boot and the region of interaction or clamping of the clamping ring and of the boot is less than the distance between the axis of rotation of the ring and this region of interaction.
